The 2026 Biennial ATLAANZ Conference Call for Abstracts is now open.  

The conference will be hosted by Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington at the Kelburn Campus, Kelburn Parade, Wellington from 25-27 November 2026 

Please note that this is an in-person event. 

The conference theme is: 

Navigating Tides of Change: Exploring New Horizons for Learning Advisors
Te tai timu, te tai pari, te tai ako, ko ngā tai matatū
(The ebbing tide, the high tide, the learning tide, the enduring tide) 

We invite Academic Learning Advisors and tertiary education staff in associated roles (e.g., librarians, student mentors, equity staff) who are interested in presenting at the conference to submit an abstract of up to 250 words and biography of up to 150 words using the online submission form before Wednesday, 1 July at 5pm. 

Presentations should be related to one or more of the following focus areas: 

  1. Te tai timu, the ebbing tide: How have learning advisor services been impacted by constraints in the tertiary education sector? 
  1. Te tai pari, the high tide: What innovations and adaptations are being made to improve learning services? 
  1. Te tai ako, the learning tide: How do learning advisors strengthen best practice through collaboration and research? 
  1. Ko ngā tai matatū, the enduring tide: What informs the professional practice, identity and status of learning advisors? 

Presentation types include: 

  • lightning talk or demonstration (up to 10 mins) 
  • workshop (45, 60 or 90 mins) 
  • paper presentation (20 mins) 
  • panel discussion (50 mins) 
  • poster presentation (in foyer) 
  • information station (in foyer)
